How to Clean Sheer Shades

Sheer shades are perfect for those seeking privacy while wanting as much heat into their home as possible. However, just like any other window treatment, sheer shades can gather dust and dirt. To ensure your shades are looking as good as they can, proper cleaning is needed.

Dusting Sheer Shades

Dusting sheer shades with a feather duster is the simplest way to remove dust and other debris. Be sure to be gentle while dusting the shade. 

Vacuuming Sheer Shades

The brush attachment on a vacuum can be used if a feather duster did not remove enough dust. While using this attachment, use a lower setting to make sure the suction of the vacuum does not damage the shade.

Washing Sheer Shades

For stained areas, soapy water and a cloth can be used. Gently wipe these areas with the damp cloth. Avoid using too much water as this will ruin the fabric. After the shade is cleaned, dry the fabric with a hair dryer.
