Measuring Height and Width for Drapes

Drapes are a good substitute for vertical blinds since they are less maintenance and give a unique look. 

As with all measuring, it is important that you have a measuring tape. 

For the drapes height, measure the distance from top of the door frame to the floor. Add around three inches to account for mounting hardware. If you do not want the drapes to touch the floor, take off an inch or two to reflect that.

To measure width, measure the distance from both border ends of the door and add ten inches. The additional ten inches helps make sure the drapes cover the entire sliding glass door properly.
