Check the Somfy Remote

One of the easiest things to check is to make sure your remote is working correctly. Make sure the batteries in your remote is working is the first thing you should check. Press any button on the remote and see if the LED display lights up. If the remote is working properly, there are a few more things you can check.

  • Check the batter wand and motor connection
  • Ensure the batteries inside the battery wand are touching the spring
  • Check the battery tube's end caps are secured tightly
  • You may need to replace the batteries in the battery wand. For instructions on that, watch this video.

Go through each of the below steps one by one to troubleshoot your Somfy RTS Motor:

  • Press the "my" button on the remote for a couple seconds. If the battery is working, the light will be seen for the whole time.
  • Unplug the motor and plug it back in.
  • Make sure there is power at the quick connect outlet or power source.
  • Use a different outlet and plug the motor into that.
  • If your motor has mechanical push-button stop limits, press them to reset it. If nothing happens, move on to next step.
  • Press the up and down button simultaneously If the motor jogs, unplug and plug it back in. If there is no movement, go on to the next step.
  • Put the motor into factory mode. Unplug for 2 seconds, plug it back in for 10 seconds, unplug for 2 more seconds, then finally plug it back in. Make sure to count the time for each of these steps carefully. Wait five seconds after the motor moves then press and hold the program button for 15 seconds.
  • If the previous steps do not work, the motor may be in thermal shutdown. If it is, it will take around 15 minutes to cool down. After this time, try and work through the previous troubleshooting steps.
